Meta Guidelines and Best Practices

Important guidelines from Meta for using WhatsApp and how to avoid account bans.

Overview

Wallm is built on top of the official WhatsApp Business API, which means your use of WhatsApp through our platform must comply with Meta's policies. Violating these policies can result in your phone number being banned from WhatsApp.

Understanding Meta's Policies

Meta has strict policies against spam, abuse, and misuse of the WhatsApp platform. As a WhatsApp API provider, we are required to enforce these policies. Users who violate Meta's terms may have their phone numbers permanently banned from WhatsApp.

What Can Get Your Number Banned

Unsolicited Messages

Never send messages to people who haven't asked for them. Sending promotional messages, announcements, or any form of unsolicited content to contacts will result in an immediate ban.

Mass Messaging to Unengaged Contacts

Sending messages to large groups of people who haven't opted in or who haven't contacted you recently is considered spam and will trigger bans.

Automated or Bulk Messages

Using the API to send automated bulk messages, especially to contacts who haven't engaged with your business, is against Meta's policies.

Message Templates Rejection

If your message templates are rejected by Meta, do not attempt to send similar content through other means. This will result in a ban.

Illegal or Harmful Content

Sending illegal, harmful, or deceptive content through WhatsApp is strictly prohibited.

Best Practices

Treat WhatsApp Like Web WhatsApp

Use the API as if you were using WhatsApp on your phone manually. The same rules that apply to personal WhatsApp usage apply to API usage.

Only Message Existing Contacts

Only send messages to people who:

  • Have contacted you first
  • Have explicitly opted in to receive messages
  • Have an existing business relationship with you

Implement Proper Opt-Out Mechanisms

Always include a way for recipients to opt out of receiving messages. Honor these requests immediately.

Space Out Message Sending

Instead of sending thousands of messages at once:

  • Space out your message sending over time
  • Send in small batches with delays between
  • This mimics natural human behavior

Check Before Messaging

Always verify that a WhatsApp number exists and is active before sending messages. Sending messages to invalid numbers repeatedly will trigger spam detection and can lead to bans.

Keep Message Content Natural

  • Avoid excessive use of emojis or special characters
  • Don't use all-caps or excessive punctuation
  • Write messages in a natural, conversational tone
  • Arabic text should be properly formatted

Monitor Your Account

Regularly check your dashboard for:

  • Message delivery failures
  • Any warnings from Wallm about policy violations
  • Unusual activity or blocks

What To Do If You're Banned

If your phone number is banned by Meta:

  1. Contact Meta directly to appeal the ban (through WhatsApp's official channels)
  2. Unfortunately, phone number bans are outside of Wallm's control
  3. You may need to use a different phone number for your WhatsApp Business API

Summary

Using WhatsApp responsibly is essential for the longevity of your integration. Always prioritize user consent, send relevant content, and follow the same etiquette you'd follow in personal WhatsApp usage.
